Adding the Pekaway Wireless Shunt to the VAN PI OS is straightforward and user-friendly. The shunt, based on the ESP32-C3 microcontroller and you find the OpenSource Software for it on GITHUB. The shunt transmits the data via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
To set it up, follow these simple steps:
Navigate to the web interface.
Go to Wireless -> Pekaway Wireless Shunt.
Start the BLE scan.
The system will find the shunt and display it in the list. Once added, the shunt will begin transmitting data to the system.
For the initial setup of the shunt, you need to restart it to enter configuration mode, indicated by a blue LED light. During this mode, you will need to set the amp hours (Ah) of your battery and the current state of charge (SoC). The optimal setup involves charging your battery to 100% and then calibrating the shunt to reflect a full charge.
With these steps, your Pekaway Wireless Shunt will be successfully integrated into the VAN PI OS, providing you with accurate battery data.
If you want it to use the shunt as you primary battery Information, set "MAIN BATT DATA" to Pekaway Wireless Shunt.

You can easily update the Wireless Shunt by connecting it to your PC and using Chrome or Edge to flash the new firmware.
